Responsibilities
Suncoast Behavioral Health Center opened its doors in 2014 and provides the highest quality of behavioral healthcare for patients in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a 60-bed free-standing psychiatric hospital. We offer diverse inpatient and residential programs for children and adolescents.
In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our patients succeed.
The Hospital is looking for a LPN 7A-7P ($1,000 Sign-On Bonus) who will play a critical role in the treatment of our patients, providing medication delivery/education, observation/safety rounds and general patient engagement.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient’s treatment plan.
- Provides for the administration of medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.
- Participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
- Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint, under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Assists RN with patient admissions and discharges.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing School.
- Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Florida
- Prefer one (1) year experience as a Practical Nurse. Prefer six (6) months in psychiatric nursing.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- Work is physically and mentally demanding. Extensive walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs. Must be able to lift or move over fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to participate in and complete Handle With Care Training on an annual basis.
