Position Summary:
The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for Medical staff and allied health professionals credentialing upon hire and annually therafter. The Medical Staff Coordinator also supports medical staff functions, including preparation for and taking minutes during Medical Executive Committee meetings, and organizational support for Peer Review meetings among other weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings. The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of all medical staff files, ensuring they are ready for the Joint Commission, Department of Health or CMS surveys.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent required, with completion of a certified health information program (AA degree) preferred.
Experience:
- At least one (1) year experience in a medical office/behavioral health care setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- At least one (1) year experience with computer systems, especially Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm minimum preferred.
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work proactively with medical director and medical staff
- May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
