Summit Oaks Hospital, a 126 bed, private acute care hospital and chemical dependency treatment center, located in a picturesque suburban setting, fully accredited (by the Joint Commission), has been providing quality health care to adult, child and adolescent northeastern USA residents, since 1902.Summit Oaks has repeatedly been recognized in U.S. News & World Report, as one of the nation's best behavioral health hospitals.
This is a full time, overnight, three days a week position from 7:00pm - 7:30am. Schedule includes alternate weekends.
Our Mental Health Associate (MHA) position presents an ideal opportunity for an energetic, motivated individual with prior experience working with patients with behavioral health or addictions diagnosis. The Mental Health Associate functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, role modeling, and monitoring patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics , depending on the nursing unit assigned. At present, the nursing units include a 28 bed adult psych unit, a 28 bed adult dual diagnosis, a 22 bed child and adolescent unit , a 24 bed detox unit and a 20 bed rehab unit.
-Other MHA duties include taking vital signs, conducting educational groups and responding to codes.

Qualifications
Education: High School Degree or equivalent; or Certified Nursing Assistant; or Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline.
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification and training in appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint, within 90 days of employment, and prior to assisting in a restraining process. Completion of Handle With Care training within 90 days of employment.
