Responsibilities

Nurse Educator (RN)

Full-Time - Day Shift

Work hours are generally 8am - 5pm, Monday-Friday.  On some occasions, may work on weekends or extended hours.

 

Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86 bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Littleton, CO.  Highlands features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. www.highlandsbhs.com

  

Position Summary

 

The Staff Educator is responsible for assisting in evaluating, reviewing, designing and implementing hospital training events with respect to New Employee Orientation (NEO) and all staff required training. Also provides, on an as-needed basis, support to the Intake, Outpatient, and Nursing Departments in any and all roles specific to an RN.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited program in nursing. Master’s Level preferred.

 

Experience:  A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting, with direct experience in nurse education, nursing practices, patient assessments, education concepts, practices and procedures.

 

Licensure:  Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado.

 

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, restraint and seclusion, and ability to prepare and present training events as directed. Completion of training in Handle with Care/Verbal De-Escalation and CPR. May be required to work occasional weekends and/or other hours to conduct training, as needed.
