What are the responsibilities and job description for the RECREATION RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR position at UHS?
Mountain Youth Academy (a UHS company) is seeking Recreation Residential Counselor(s) to serve as a Residential Counselors in addition to facilitating recreation activities and groups. Functions as a responsible as a member of the program team who observes and reports physical and behavioral symptoms under the direction of the Shift Supervisor/ Residential Manager. The Recreational Residential Counselor is an active participant in the implementation of physical care and therapeutic activities.
Position currently only involves weekend hours.

Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 90-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent students. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for our Residential Counselor position(s).

Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer Degree in recreation or a related field, However the facility accepts as a candidate the minimum requirements by the State of Tennessee as a high school diploma for employment.
SERVICE STANDARDS/PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT FUNCTION:
· Promotes the philosophy, goals and objectives of the facility by becoming familiar with and complying with facility and departmental policies and procedures.
· Maintains licenses and certifications required for the position.
· Attends mandatory training annually to maintain competency.
