The UHS Corporate Tax Department is hiring a Senior Tax Accountant to support tax planning and tax research initiatives as needed. Provides quarterly and annual Accounting for Income Tax (ASC 740) support. Provides IRS and State audit support, including the response and resolution to notices. Reviews and analyzes the impact of proposed and enacted legislation as required.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Prepares and documents accurate tax work papers for all moderate to complex income and franchise tax returns.
- Prepares Federal income, State income, and franchise tax returns.
- Includes preparation of Partnership returns.
- Prepares State tax estimates as assigned.
- Provides quarterly and annual Accounting for Income Tax (ASC 740) support as needed.
- Provides all tax returns and work papers for detailed review and approval by department management.
- Provides quarterly and annual support as necessary including return to provision reconciliations, valuation allowance calculations, Fin 48 analysis, acquisition/ divestiture calculations, and analyzing/implementing/reporting tax planning and accounting method strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years public experience or 5 years industry experience.
- CPA License is preferred, but not required.
- Microsoft office skills required. Proficient in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Familiar with tax return compliance software – preferably CORPTAX & Sage.
- Familiar with internet-based tax research techniques.
