Mesilla Valley Hospital (UHS facility) is a free-standing psychiatric hospital in Las Cruces, New Mexico that provides mental health and drug & alcohol addiction services for adolescents, adults, and seniors. Mesilla Valley Hospital has been in operation since 1987, serving those in need of treatment for a variety of psychiatric and substance abuse issues. Mesilla Valley Hospital is a 120-bed facility, providing access to quality behavioral healthcare and substance abuse treatment to residents of New Mexico, West Texas and Arizona.
Mesilla Valley Hospital is currently seeking a FT Recreational Therapy Supervisor.
The Recreational Services Supervisor is responsible for the development and implementation of the therapeutic/diversional activity programming for inpatients. The position oversees all Recreational Activities staff, and ensure the Department provides intervention to address the patients identified goals/objectives.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Must possess a B.S. degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Art Therapy, Music Therapy or related discipline. Must have a valid certification or licensure pas per study discipline. Preferred Master’s Degree and Certified Recreational Therapy Specialist (CRTS). Related experience with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred.
SKILLS
Excellent communication skills and knowledge of ropes training preferred and knowledge of adolescent and adult program rules and protocols.
