Responsibilities
The Valley Health System has expanded into an integrated health network that serves more than two million people in Southern Nevada. Starting with Valley Hospital Medical Center in 1979, the Valley Health System has grown to include Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center, Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, Summerlin Hospital Medical Center and our newest addition Henderson Hospital.
Responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures. This position acts as a resource for Lab Assistants. Supports and assists Medical Technologists and Lead Medical Technologists as may be required. This position requires minimal to moderate supervision, (task dependent) and a General Supervisor must be on site.
Qualifications
Education:
MLT(ASCP) or equivalent as defined by CLIA’88
Experience:
Two (2) years of as Medical Laboratory Technician is required.
Technical Skills:
General bench tech skills required to provide coverage in all modalities
License/Certification:
Nevada State Licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technician in addition to ASCP or equivalent board registration. A current Nevada Provisional License accepted with the contingency that the Nevada State License as a Clinical Laboratory Technician will be completed prior to Provisional License expiration date.
Other:
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality of patient care appropriately (specific age competent). Must possess appropriate people skills, organization and attention to detail. Must desire to act as a resource and provide assistance as required.
