Fort Lauderdale behavioral Health Center is a 182-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Oakland Park neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale, FL. FLBHC features individual units for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center.

Qualifications
Education/Training:
- Master’s Degree from accredited school in Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling.
- Registered Intern- must provide Supervisory Contract/Agreement; DoH letter verification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent
Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience working in a behavioral health or psychiatric counseling setting with adolescents.
- Experience working with adolescents with mental and emotional issues.
- Experience in assessment and level of care determination
- Experience in office management and effective communication with community resources and interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience in insurance certification and case reviews
Licensure/Certification:
- CPR certification
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong therapeutic skills and knowledge of therapeutic philosophies
- Knowledge and experience working with adolescents in a remote environment
- Extensive knowledge of community resources, particularly those helping adolescent and families
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and families with varied ability to understand
- Strong assessment skills and ability to intervene in a variety of situations
- Knowledge of Psychiatric/Chemical Dependency Treatment for adolescents
- Working knowledge of strategic planning
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Sensitive and aware of diverse cultures and their practices
