Engineering Technician/PLC Programmer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Furniture Test Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in building, maintaining, and programming furniture test equipment, with a focus on PLC programming. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning of test equipment used for quality control and safety testing of furniture products. The technician will work closely with engineers, test technicians, and quality assurance personnel to ensure our test equipment is accurate, reliable, and well-maintained.

This is an onsite role requiring 5 days per week in our lab in Holland, MI.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and calibrate furniture test equipment, including mechanical and electrical components.
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on test equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to test equipment functionality.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop and implement PLC programs for automated testing processes.
• Monitor test equipment during furniture testing, ensuring accurate data collection and adherence to safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and calibration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testing procedures and equipment efficiency.
  
  

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in building, maintaining, and programming furniture test equipment.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
