Ultradent, a leader in dental manufacturing, and a certified Great Place to Work, is looking for a Manufacturing Manager to oversee a production group of about 150 people in South Jordan, UT. Responsible for the overall daily management and production execution of this business unit, this person would mainly need to be onsite. We have been in business for over 45 years as a privately held, family-owned company. We need someone who is passionate about leading people, with a good grasp of business acumen, who has a high-level knowledge of optimizing manufacturing and CI principles to help us expand even further into the future of improving oral health globally. Start date can be flexible. Primary Responsibilities Manage diverse production teams consisting of day, and swing shifts. This includes Line Leads, Area Leads, Line Technicians, Machine Operators, and Front-Line Associates. Help people on your team understand their purpose and their impact of the daily job. Lead people by setting an example of the company core values, communication, and interactions with others. Coach and mentor others through frequent development conversations, performance feedback and conflict resolution/mediation of interpersonal colleague dynamics Manage the daily operation of manufacturing and work directly with other supporting departments such as product development, supply chain, warehouse, quality, etc. Uses Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies aligned with the company strategy to drive and improve daily operations. Responsible for ensuring all employees receive adequate training. Assesses training needs and assists in executing or facilitating training. Interface with department/customers on a daily basis. Conduct cross-functional daily standup meeting. Monitor OEE and works with the technical team to ensure downtime is being addressed on a daily basis. Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety standards. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly key performance indicators. Reports KPIs to senior management team on a frequent basis. Ensure all teams in manufacturing are compliant with GMPs and consistently monitors documentation. Assist in developing technical manufacturing processes. Experience in CI methodologies (theory of constraints, Lean, 5S, TPM, SMED, Six Sigma, etc.). Effective communication skills and the ability to connect and influence people at all levels. Ability to hold employees accountable for results through coaching and able to recognize when education and training is needed, while keeping employee engagement high. Ability to balance big picture thinking and attention to detail. An understanding of quality systems Verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, and empathetic communication Microsoft Office skills.
