The JOBS Career Advisor position is Open Until Filled so that we can find the ideal candidate for our amazing team. This is a grant funded position through a biannual JOBS grant provided by the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) Self-Sufficiency Program

As a Full-Time Classified ICAP Career Advisor, you will work out of the Roseburg Oregon Department of Human Services building. Career Advisor works in collaboration with ODHS Family Coaches to assist Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) participants in identifying strengths and needs while providing guidance to address immediate concerns, promote self-sufficiency, and establish long-term goals. Follow through with participants in the JOBS program until they have obtained economic stability or are removed from the program. The individual situation of each participant is considered when developing services.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in human services, Social Science, Psychology or related field. 
  • 12 months professional experience providing advising, career counseling, or related services. 
  • 12 months office experience. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and technology 
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle for frequent on the job travel with mileage reimbursement. 
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and experience working with individuals from diverse social, economic, ethnic, academic, and cultural backgrounds.
Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications:
  • One year experience working with Oregon Department of Human Services or similar state agency. 
  • One year experience working with participants of the TANF Program.
