What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Diagram Technician position at Unbound Solar?
Reporting to the Sr. VP of Technology, the Solar Diagram Technician is primarily responsible for creating solar wiring diagrams and reviewing 3rd party diagrams and plan sets. You will utilize your knowledge of solar systems and electrical diagrams to ensure quality control for 3rd party plan sets and diagrams before they are sent to customers, as well as providing in-house capacity for creating solar electrical diagrams. You will also support the customer quoting process for new construction by creating 3D models for within the proposal tool software.
Key Responsibilities
- Create solar wiring diagrams for off-grid, grid-tied, or grid-tied with battery backup systems
- Create and maintain wiring diagram templates
- Review 3rd party diagrams and plan sets for accuracy
- Monitor 3rd party diagram and plan set quality checks and provide feedback for continual improvement
- Work closely with the Customer Project Manager to ensure customer project information is accurate and complete for each system diagram
- Provide feedback to sales design technicians to ensure the customer project details are captured and communicated effectively and accurately
- Assist Sales technicians with Aurora design proposals for new construction by creating the 3D model using blueprints and the Aurora platform
- Assist the Tech Support group with quote checks (reviewing for design accuracy), customer tech support tickets, as time permits
About You
- You possess a High School Diploma, or equivalent
- You have basic knowledge of products and solutions for solar PV installation and operation
- You possess excellent communication skills – both written and oral
- You have attention to detail and good organizational skills
- You demonstrate patience and flexibility when working with internal and external customers
- You possess active listening skills
