All previous applicants are still under consideration.The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a creative professional to serve as the assistant director for communications for the School of Nursing. The assistant director will report to and work with the director of communications to advance a sophisticated branding, social media, marketing, and public relations program based on the mission, educational philosophy, and goals of the UNC School of Nursing; create and manage a comprehensive digital content marketing strategy and calendar; manage projects related to public relations and special events; support and deploy academic marketing efforts for the SON; formulate and write stories, press releases and marketing pieces to promote, publicize and build awareness of the activities, mission, rankings and programs of the SON; assist with communications support for the Dean and Advancement office as needed; and perform other duties as assigned.The Office of Communications is housed within the Office of Advancement at the School of Nursing, and our team is dedicated to supporting one another in meeting goals; fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion; furthering open and consistent communication; and creating the place where we want to work together.Successful candidates will demonstrate exemplary communication and digital media marketing skills and the ability to solve problems, think critically, and work well with colleagues, students, alumni, donors, and the media.
