The Associate Director of Carolina Health Informatics Program (CHIP) is responsible for critical administrative operations associated with the three academic programs: online and offline master's in biomedical and health informatics and the doctoral program in health informatics. This position is also responsible for day-to-day monitoring and management of the core operational program budget. The primary academic administrative duties include tracking all the key courses in terms of their availability and offering period (i.e., fall, spring, and summer sessions), assisting with enrolling students into courses, supporting new course planning and revisions, facilitating recruitment of instructors, and ensuring proper balance and sequence of courses to meet different types of demands (online, offline, and international students). The core budget planning and operations involve liaising with key academic partners and the central finance office. Specific duties involve tracking and making adjustments to the budget associated with personnel appointments, salaries, and changes associated with personnel transitions.
