Position: Analytics Lead or Manager
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and lead the daily activities of the UBC and Owens Group Enterprise Analytics staff who serve mission-critical business applications to our retail, ecommerce, operations teams, and SaaS teams
- Collaboratively lead efforts to create and execute an analytics and reporting roadmap to produce high-impact business outcomes from UBC and Owens Group Enterprise data assets
- Identify and support opportunities to advance data driven decision making, automation, and to streamline business processes
- Work daily with business team to create analytics and reporting required to run the business
- Liaise with key stakeholders within client teams to champion analytics and technology solutions
- Develop and leverage KPIs to gain insight into performance and identify key areas for continuous improvement
- Convey advanced analytics solutions/technology to broader teams including non-technical audiences
- Empower end-users to leverage key productivity tools (O365, SharePoint, PowerBI, etc.) through various training methods at scale
- Effectively partner and communicate with external teams to remove blockers and propel delivery
- Ensure uptime of critical infrastructure through planning, monitoring, and continuous improvement
- Help support key aspects of internally developed inventory management system
Required Skills
- Highly proficient in PowerBI, SQL, SSRS and data base management and reporting best practices
- The ability to effectively lead in a hands-on manner and mentor a small analytics team
- Highly proficient in consulting with internal and external stakeholders to understand current and emerging reporting and analytics needs and turn that into an executable roadmap
- Understanding of data domains, models, and implications for analytics use in at least one industry including retail, telecommunications, cable, finance, media, advertising, or similar
- The ability to maintain and administer server, reporting, and data warehousing including SSIS, SSAS, and various external data feeds
- Strong communication skills. The ability to comprehend and communicate advanced analytics artifacts, business insights, and resulting implications to non-technical business partners. Ability to work in a diverse team
- The ability to provide reporting on IT operations and system health to senior stakeholders
Desired Skills
- Experience programming in C# and using Microsoft DevOps.
- Exposure to and knowledge of Microsoft and/or AWS machine learning and analytics capabilities.
- Programming skills and analytics knowledge for the AWS or micros data/analytic software/languages/tools; e.g., Spark, Tensorflow, SageMaker, Python, R, Scala, Java, SQL, etc.
- Experience with Tibco JasperServer

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree is required; Computer Science or similar degree program preferred
- 3 years Analytics work experience required
- 1 years of experience in a data leadership role required
