Center Store Supervisor

We are growing.....and as a result our Merchandising Department has an exciting new position opening as Center Store Supervisor.  This individual will ensure the compliance of our stores with care and attention to our Isle and end cap presentation, merchandising layouts and display planner compliance.  This position will be a traveling position to our stores, with a Department presence in Melville, NY.

Responsibilities

• Will schedule daily store visits to assess the design and layout of merchandise within each of our stores
• Responsible for planner compliance, reviewing center store standard compliance, review in stock compliance and warehouse DSD
• Will be responsible for reviewing sign and tag execution in addition to store sanitation
• Assess backroom for visual appeal, following our processes and procedures
• Responsible for being store level point of contact for service issues with DSD Vendors
• Create weekly display planner for Director of Center Store approval
• Responsible for weekly rotation calendar, verifying compliance through store visits
• Will perform weekly competitive price checks
• Ambassador for Uncle Giuseppe’s product placement and display merchandising
• Responsible for store inventory
• Review weekly  and YTD sales and GP% results, identifying opportunities and action plans for corrective action
• Will be responsible for backdoor receiving and billing process
• Manage the training and development of managers and future leaders
• Other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising or related field is a plus
• Prior experience (5 ) working in a grocery store environment, focused on Center Store is required
• Must have in depth knowledge of Center Store operations and merchandising
• Working design knowledge of displays, end caps, holiday merchandise rollouts, planning, forecasting and planning execution
• Must have a strong sense of motivation and urgency
• Travel to our stores is essential for this role.  Must be willing to travel to our store locations located in NY and NJ

Working Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
• May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
• Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
• There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
