What you will do and the impact you will have:
As Procurement Manager at Underground Cellar, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of inventory purchasing, invoice reconciliation, and payments. Working in conjunction with the Accounting Lead, Winery Relations, Merchandising, and Fulfillment teams, you’ll manage the end-to-end procurement process including monitoring our ordering needs, cutting POs with vendors, scheduling pickups & delivery, and managing exceptions to POs, invoices, and goods receipts. You will also be responsible for supporting month-end close, financial analysis, and reporting. This role requires not only a gift for numbers and keen attention to detail but also the ability to represent the Company externally with suppliers and other vendors.
We offer a large and unique assortment of wines that most retailers never get access to. The team will look directly to you to ensure that wine from all over the world gets into our fulfillment center and out to our customers in a timely fashion. As the critical link between the buying, fulfillment, and accounting worlds, you will get incredible exposure to different parts of the wine industry. Please note that while this is not a Wine Buyer role but you will work closely with the winery relations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Winery Relations and Merchandising teams to understand product needs
- Develop accurate ordering lists and create purchase orders in Netsuite
- Manage inventory exceptions with vendors, communicating exceptions to the Winery Relations and Merchandising teams
- Support the development of budgets and own procurement KPIs, managing adherence with all relevant stakeholders
- Oversee delivery scheduling with vendors and carriers
- Reconcile vendor invoices for correct inventory and pricing
- Manage invoices with different payment terms and support our accounting team in completing timely payments in Bill.com
- Assist with inventory reconciliations
- Assist with month-end closing procedures including accruals
- Mentor junior procurement and/or operations coordinators
Experience & Skill Set:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Direct procurement experience in the wine industry strongly preferred
- Experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement, and/or sourcing
- Experience working with large financial ERP Systems (Netsuite is preferred) and automated purchasing tools
- Knowledge of the wine industry and terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite with an emphasis in Excel and Google Sheets
- Experience with accrual accounting and full comprehension monthly accrual process
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to prioritize work and multi-task successfully
- Experience implementing processes and decisions while maintaining relationships with suppliers
