What are the responsibilities and job description for the HRSS Specialist II position at UNFI?
Purpose: To complete a variety of specialized duties that support functional and financial operations. Duties focus on tasks and/or work that are unique to the HR Shared Services and Associate Contact Center department and require knowledge and skills that are beyond what are required for general office work. Aspects of HR, Payroll, Benefits, Call Center, and other Shared Services functions drive ongoing focus and work assignments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains complex records related to HR, Benefits, Payroll, and Union records
- Responds to inquiries in area of responsibility timely, accurately, and professionally
- Collects data/information for internal department use in special projects or reports. Updates information and reports
typically on the computer
- Checks information for accuracy
- Attends to phones as needed to support customer requests through the Associate Contact Center. Routes calls as
needed to other appropriate areas or contacts.
- Reviews information/data and makes decisions within well-defined guidelines, parameters, and instruction
- Examines and prioritizes documents to determine work to be completed or best course of action
- Collects information for specific intra-department reports
- Creates and maintains complex reports
- Shares information and reports with other functions functional groups and HR teams while ensuring that the
information is kept confidential and secure.
- Sorts, files and maintains invoices, receipts, contracts, or other special department documents
- Compiles minor statistical data
- Makes and checks routine one and two step math calculations
- Accumulates data necessary to determine accurate payment processing or remittance
- Completes keyboarding projects such as preparing correspondence and mailings
- Checks own work for accuracy
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of college experience preferred
Experience:
- Prior office experience preferred
Other Skills/ Abilities:
- Reading, writing, math and communication skills at a proficient level
- Ability to follow verbal or written instruction
- Keyboarding proficiency
- Intermediate computer skills in Excel and Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be detail oriented, ability to be organized, and strong analytical skills
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;
reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
- Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
