What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing and Merchandising Analyst eCommerce position at UNFI?

Purpose:

Develops and implements digital merchandising solutions by analyzing a variety of datasets including POS, e-commerce and syndicated data and presenting actionable takeaways and insights for first and third-party digital properties.

Job Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Conducts analysis to identify new product opportunities and measure performance against goals and determined objectives.
  • Works alongside a cross-functional team of marketing, operations, pricing, customer service, IT, and others to develop or improve on existing processes and provide value company wide.
  • Supports/participates in creation of digital merchandising strategy for the merchandising teams based on data and past performance of categories.
  • Responsible for Cub’s digital shelf. Work with syndication and product information management tools to keep product content up to date.
  • Use Web Content Management Solution tools to maintain product recommendation and listing containers as provided by merchant and marketing teams.
  • Use admin panel interfaces to manage digital promotions.
  • Be a subject matter expert for Cub’s first party web platform.
  • Receive and respond to website issues as reported by store and customer care teams.
  • Work with Cub merchant team to execute their strategy across first- and third-party digital platforms.
  • Build relationships with third party vendors.
  • Learn to use basic APIs (Application Programming Interface)
  • Learn the flow of customer and product data between systems.
  • Use tools such as Google Data Studio and Google Analytics to analyze

Job Requirements

Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Management, Math or related field preferred.
  • Computer knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs required
  • Work independently and on a team.
  • Analytical mindset with willingness to think outside of the box.
  • Must be capable of understanding the retail environment.
  • High degree of initiative using analytical and leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, training, and project management skills.
  • Consumer packaged goods experience, preferred.
  • Experience handling aspects of project management, preferred.
  • Specific Web application skills will be taught on the job. Candidate will need the ability to learn basic website management skills and understand the complexities of how different systems work with each other.
  • Marketing or merchandising experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to present to large groups occasionally required.

Physical Environment

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
  • Stopping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
  • Position may require some travel to metro Cub stores.
  • Workday is fast paced with many projects taking place simultaneously.
