What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Forecaster position at UNFI?
Purpose:
The Procurement Forecaster reviews and manages product forecasts, demand signals, and vendor and item maintenance in accordance with set parameters to achieve customer satisfaction and inventory goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Be courteous, professional, and respectful with internal and external customers always.
- Analyzes historical and future trends to forecast year over year lift periods.
- Aggregates information from multiple parties to accurately forecast new item sets to minimize shrink and meet inventory goals.
- Responsible for addressing any large, non-anticipated spikes in demand to ensure fill rate targets are met within time constraints.
- Accountable for targeted fill rates/service levels.
- Monitor’s product data to ensure individual goals are met for fill rate, in-stock and spoils.
- Utilize reports to ensure product data is accurate.
- Drive for results by meeting deadlines and completing special projects as assigned, often with minimal management involvement.
- Acquire knowledge and skillset to utilize ERP systems.
- Computer literate in Excel, Word, Adobe reader and the ability to learn proprietary host systems.
- Develop plans to achieve and improve KPI goals. Compile monthly score card data to review performance and issue resolution.
- Provides liaison services between Customer Care, Sales, and Procurement to ensure accurate forecast.
- Maintains records in accordance with established policies, procedures, and audit guidelines.
- Resolves problems relative to procurement actions such as supplier disputes, customer agreements, conformance with contract law, and in coordination with legal counsel when indicated.
- Communicate effectively; clear, concise, timely and accurately.
- Demonstrate an understanding of supply chain and implement multi-functional decisions to better processes.
- Assists lower-level Associates with complex procurement and forecasting problems.
- Ability to resolve conflict with internal and external customers.
- Managing for results, responsible for a team’ s performance related to forecasting metrics.
- Participates in developing projects around continuously improving overall business performance.
Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Experience:
- Three (3) or more years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of industry forecasting practices
- Knowledge of large-scale distribution networks
Skills/ Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to document work in progress.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stake holders in a diverse community.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
- Ability to assess contract compliance and product/service quality.
- Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.
