General Manager Job Description Unicoi State Park & Lodge
Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Regional General Manager, this position will oversee the day-to-day management of the property with responsibility for leading all aspects of Unicoi State Park and Lodge, to include guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, sales and revenue generation, and delivering a satisfactory return on investment to ownership. The General Manager will also be responsible for successfully integrating the establishment of all set brand standards with the development of the brands culture.

Essential Functions:
Supervisory Responsibilities (Direct Reports): All members of the Resorts management team.
Education and/or Experience: Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required, Bachelors Degree preferred; previous hotel management experience required, preferably in a General Manager role.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence at a professional level. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and Standard Operating Procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out concrete instructions furnished in written or oral, or diagram form. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form.
Computer/Technical Skills:
Ability to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) required; ability to use web-based programs required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Travel: Limited
Housing: This position is required to reside on property at no cost to the General Manager in a private residence.
