What are the responsibilities and job description for the B2C Creative Lead position at UNiDAYS Ltd?

*this role is open to remote working within the UK. Successful candidates will be required to travel to their closest UNiDAYS campus (London or Nottingham) on occasion.

The role in a nutshell

As a Creative Lead, expertise to deliver and drive stunning creative solutions in response to marketing and other channel briefs is essential to this role. Reporting through to our Associate Art Director, you will be responsible for leading creative campaigns to support our marketing activities, targeting our student audience. 

Working with authority and professionalism, the role works with the Associate Art Director, Copywriters, Localisation and the Creative Services team and other business area managers, to delegate tasks, and offer advice and feedback to your team members.

This role takes on the responsibility of line managing other designers in the Creative team and ownership of specific workstream(s) that ladder up to the Team/Business objectives or a specific business unit.

Developing your team's creative capability through leadership and inventive concepts, your aim is to set UNiDAYS creative and campaigns apart from those of our competitors. You will ensure high quality and attention to detail whilst displaying expertise, maturity and a cool head under pressure.

Day to day responsibilities 

  • Producing excellent quality creative campaigns and projects. Executing across a range of diverse channels Globally - delivering on business objectives.
  • Produce strong commercial designs throughout desktop, mobile, digital marketing
    and social channels.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across all deliverables when reviewing and approving art, layout, and design across owned and all other digital and social platforms (organic and paid social), OOH and experiential.
  • Lead and be an active contributor and direct ideation, concept and design stages of all campaigns working closely with the our Copy team
  • Cross functional collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders and departments
  • Encouraging others to share and explore their ideas.
  • Passionate about maintaining high creative standards and ensuring only the best work is released to the clients.
  • Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with independent judgment
  • Contribute creative solutions and innovations that strengthen the UNiDAYS position in region 
  • Start to apply to strategic thinking and provide relevant direction to team and processes, can identify priorities and issues and works with team members to set the team up for success.
  • Conducts regular, meaningful 1:1 reviews with creative line reports, to assess and plan performance motivating them to keep morale and performance high
  • Put the customer at the heart of everything, encourages team/colleagues to respond to customer needs personally and genuinely.
  • Works to create a team spirit and identity amongst the team.
  • Strong Commercial awareness - you’ll generate innovative yet commercially-viable concepts and solutions.

What You Have Done

  • Extensive experience within a creative role.
  • Have an agency background or led a National/Global in-house creative team
  • Expert in creative delivery of print and digital design for omni-channel campaigns
  • Experienced collaborator - working with designers, marketing, UX, UI, Engineering and copywriters
  • Have previous experience managing creative team members 
  • Strong understanding of interpreting and challenging client briefs
  • Excellent conceptualisation & visual communication ability with the ability to scamp and sketch out digital solutions
  • Expert understanding of creative design, typography and digital/design standards
  • Highly skilled in leading creative teams, brainstorm and ideation sessions and directing creative execution
  • Ability to think creatively against demanding deadlines with acute attention to detail
  • Regularly delivered ROI across a wide range of campaigns
  • Have delivered projects across multiple countries within EMEA

Technical Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe CC. e.g. Indesign, illustrator, After Effects and Photoshop.
  • Print and Digital platform execution experience
  • Proficient in Google Suite
