UVP has a new opening for a Trainer for our Twin Cities practices - Minnesota Eye Consultants, Northwest Eye, and Minnesota Retina Associates. This position will require travel to all clinic locations.

This position will be responsible for the onboarding of new hires, training of existing staff, and advanced skills training. They will be responsible for delivering all departmental system procedures, policies, etc. training in support of the Practices’ efforts in achieving key performance goals. The primary area of focus will be the onboarding and training of Scribes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and assess training needs within the Practices’ and participate in the activities involved in the design, preparation, delivery and need assessment of the training and development programs
- Provides input to the training strategy and the development of specific training development plans
- Design solutions incorporating a variety of learning methodologies
- Provide training to new and existing employees
- Participate in organizational team initiatives providing input on learning needs, and developing schedules for training delivery
- Utilize a variety of adult learning techniques to deliver training in the most effective and impactful manner
- Provides input to management about employee performance during the training periods
- Make recommendations on training progress, effectiveness, and improvements
- Validate training content by creating a testing and evaluation process to measure the accuracy of the content being delivered, making updates to training content as needed
- Coordinate and/or facilitate new technology or applications training
- Perform all other tasks as assigned
- Create comprehensive training programs for multiple learning mediums (self-paced learning, instructor-led learning, supplemental materials, interactive learnings) to drive desired outcomes
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2 years prior Ophthalmology experience preferred. Preferably as a Scribe.
- Previous experience facilitating training in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, computer, technology, and presentation skills required, with an overall knowledge of sound business training and development practices
- Capable of working independently, with little supervision, while remaining flexible and adaptable to changing job requirements.
- Excellent and professional communicator using tact and diplomacy.
- Demonstrates high attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with a willingness to learn and master other software programs.
