Who You Are and What You'll Do
Technology is embedded in every facet of our marketing from digital content to data-driven decision making. As the Manager of Marketing Technology, you will be responsible for overseeing our marketing technology stack, including the selection of platforms, implementation and integrations of the technology, as well as having direct channel ownership over seventhgeneration.com, the keystone to our digital foundation. This position is a key member of the Digital Hub and Marketing teams and interfaces with multiple business partners, including communications, creative, Brand, eCommerce, IT and the larger Unilever technology management organization (in the US and global), working to ensure successful and timely implementation of marketing technology solutions and consumer experiences that help drive business impact.
Strategic
  • Lead the Marketing Technology team, overseeing two direct reports and collaborating with other Marketing Managers (eComm, Creative and Community team managers)
  • Own the Marketing Technology Roadmap for Seventh Generation, a view of how our marketing technologies interact and a 1-3 year outlook on development and integration priorities
  • Partner with the Digital Hub Lead to explore direct-to-consumer (DTC) selling opportunities in service of the total brands’ objectives
  • Oversee and manage Seventh Generation relationships with key technology vendors
SVG.com Channel Ownership
  • Oversee seventhgeneration.com as our primary digital hub servicing and integrated with the rest of the Seventh Generation ecosystem
  • Together with the Digital Hub Lead, establish performance metrics on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis and report out to the organization
  • Identify opportunities and headwinds to achieving our business outcomes tied to the channel and build project plans to address each, both in-year or against a longer time horizon
  • Partner with other channel owners (email, social, eCommerce, etc.) to build marketing plans that deliver on the site’s marketing objectives
Implementation & Integration
  • Oversee the marketing technology infrastructure and lead day-to-day upkeep, development, and integration workstreams to improve (as guided by the roadmap), with the brand’s website being a key priority
  • Ensure projects deliver business value and produce high-quality results, while meeting time and budget constraints
  • Develop and implement a framework for acquiring, storing, analyzing, and acting on real-time/platform-based consumer data, including CRM and email marketing
  • Ensure front-end consumer engagement platforms adhere to UX best practices
Measurement
  • Establish analytics and performance tracking strategy for marketing technologies within the tech stack. Establish KPIs, track & report on channel effectiveness
  • Manage, integrate, and align information from multiple sources into reports with learnings and actionable insights
  • Drive a culture of data-driven decision making by providing actionable, business-based insights sourced from our real-time user behavior (web site, CRM, email, etc.) that encourage a test-learn-evolve practice in our marketing
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related field experience required with 7 years relevant technology experience in a Brand Marketing environment, including experience managing execution and development teams
  • Direct to Consumer (DTC) eCommerce experience preferred and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience a plus
  • Experience managing the systems that make up the marketing technology stack, including but not limited to Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM, Email Service Platforms (ESP), Content Management Systems (CMS), website & eComm platforms, Google Analytics & Tag Manager, etc.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of marketing automation, consumer data management, digital asset management, marketing analytics, and digital advertising/promotional technologies (including CRM, email services, loyalty platforms, content management, etc)
  • Strong understanding of the consumer lifecycle, touchpoints, and experience journey
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills, whether working with creative, executive, or data-driven teams.
  • A strong collaborator who seeks out cross-functional feedback and input to build comprehensive recommendations and drive well-informed strategies.
  • Self-starter who enjoys technical challenges and embraces new opportunities.
  • Able to stay flexible and agile in fast-paced work environment.
Pay: The pay range for this position is $96,000 to $143,900. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
