What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utilities Operator position at Union Agener?
Position Description
· Operate and maintain equipment and complete all required documentation under FDA and cGMP specifications.
· Record information accurately and legibly per batch records and procedures.
· Troubleshoot equipment or conditions, make recommendations to the Process Engineers, Maintenance Engineer, or Manager, and implement changes to achieve efficient operating conditions.
· Perform area Preventive Maintenance (PM’s) and Work Orders (WO’s) on equipment in Plant Utilities and Clean Utilities departments and record time worked against work orders in SAP tracking system.
· Develop and revise SOP’s. Train and develop other Unit Specialists.
· Perform in-process analysis including, but not limited to, pH, conductivity, spectrophotometry and titration.
· Monitor the Console control board, investigate alarms, and make required adjustments.
· Perform housekeeping to keep the area clean and free of hazards.
· Proficient with understanding GIPSM (Globally Integrated Process Safety Management) chemicals and associated handling procedures.
· Perform in a team-based environment, willing to participate in team activities, serve in leadership roles, and be receptive to receiving and giving constructive coaching to team members and management.
Education:
· Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or related process operation preferred.
Skills:
· Familiar with using a computer, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
· Able to work in a team environment.
· High level of initiative
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Able to handle change productively and handle other tasks as assigned
· High level of initiative and motivated.
· Good interpersonal skills, planning, organization and prioritizing are essential.

Physical Requirements:
· Perform and review work in a manufacturing plant environment.
· Able to ascend/descend ladders and stairs.
· Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when applicable.
· Lift 40lb loads.
· Work in various climate/weather conditions associated with a manufacturing plant at any time.
· Respond to plant emergencies when required.
· Work 12 hour rotating (days/nights) shifts.
· Must be available to work overtime/modified schedule within department and Union Agener policy guidelines to support the business needs.
· Wear respirator or other protective gear as required.
