SUMMARY
Regional Support Specialist (RSS) serves as the primary expert and leader of all bank support in their defined region. Provides support to the employees by serving as contact for inquiries, issues and problems concerning policies and procedures. The RSS team leads the bank to gain operational efficiency within their region by providing support and consistent/accurate responses. The RSS also identifies areas of operational weakness and works diligently to improve those areas.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 2-year college degree in Business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years’ branch banking experience to include teller operations, new account procedures, and branch operations
- Excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking capabilities, interpersonal skills, and strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and interact effectively at all levels with internal and external customers
- Proficiency with Widows PC environment with emphasis on Microsoft Office suite and other bank software programs
- May require daily and some overnight travel
- Participate in all required training including but not limited to Compliance, Bank Secrecy Act, in-person and online training, internal and external programs.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Serve as a primary contact for bank personnel in all areas of deposit applications and general branch operations
- Must have a general working knowledge of all deposit platform systems and operational procedures within the bank
- Provides assigned bank offices with training, coaching and service support to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed to reinforce safety and soundness
- Responsible for reviewing all areas of the self-assessment of assigned offices to insure quality audits are maintained including performing assigned monthly checkpoints to reinforce adherence
- Responsible to review monthly exception reports for all areas of branch deposit applications and responsible for addressing and creating a plan of communication, training, etc. to reduce exceptions
- Maintain consistent communications with Presidents, Regional Banking Managers and Branch Managers in assigned region through checkpoint visits on a routine basis
- Will routinely conduct branch visits in assigned region (travel may be required)
- Complete Quality Control on another teammate for each checkpoint assigned
- Conduct periodic branch meetings within assigned region
- Review Checkpoint Results and Branch Audit Reviews and develop remediation plan by executing and follow up
- Assists with development, update, and maintenance of Branch Standard Operating Procedure Bulletins, manuals and job aids
- Will partner with training to assist in training reinforcement and related communications as needed
- Liaison with branch management, bank operations, technology, compliance/BSA, legal, FIU, project teams and security departments to optimize branch performance
- Share and request information in the form of newsletter articles, emails, in person, by phone, or polls/surveys often on very tight deadlines.
- Will be a partner in any bank M & A not only in their individual region but in United as a whole. (travel required)
- Will be a partner in bank opening/closing/combining of offices in assigned region
- May be cross-trained to take Branch Support Desk calls, work online banking workflows, or create checkpoints on SharePoint
- Assist with forthcoming year’s budget
