Description
The General Floor Maintenance Associate is required to work in climate controlled as well as non-climate controlled areas. The associate is responsible for maintaining the upkeep of all logistics facilities, in addition to performing grounds maintenance. He or she maintains the safety/sanitation/security of the logistics environment, and appropriately handles all materials following company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school or vocational school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Six months of experience in a similar position preferred
- Experience in operating a pallet jack, forklift and other power equipment preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain the upkeep of the logistics facility
- Empty all wastebaskets and trash cans
- Load plastic and/or cardboard into the plastic or cardboard bailer
- Operate floor care equipment such as automatic scrubbers to ensure that floors are kept clean
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of all common floor areas
- Clear debris from the outside parking and lawn areas
- Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions
- Able to maintain very high proficiency and job standards while working in a non-temperature controlled environment that includes exposure to heat, high humidity, and inclement weather

- Able to work around moving vehicles and equipment, with some dust and fumes from power equipment and vehicles
Physical Requirements and Essential Functions
- Regular, reliable attendance required
- Able to safely operate a hand truck, pallet jack and/or forklift, and floor scrubber
- Able to stand and walk, reach with arms and hands, lift and carry, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel
- Able to perform greater than average lifting (up to 45 lbs), with some overhead lifting required
- Able to frequently climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must have specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision and the ability to judge distance
- Must be flexible to perform scheduled and unscheduled tasks
