Territory Service Manager: United Hardware is seeking a full-time Territory Service Manager for our Sales Department.
United Hardware, home of the Hardware Hank brand, is a full-line wholesale hardware distributor providing products, retail programs and support services to independent retailers. Headquartered in Maple Grove, MN, United Hardware services dealers from its 400,000 square foot distribution center in Milbank, SD and delivers to locations in 15 states.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Make store visits to strategic partners to sell United Hardware s programs and services; establish and work on goals to improve retailer s business; give constructive advice on store improvements; provide dealers with relevant information.
Territory Expectations:
- Develop relationship with assigned Dealers
- Represent United Hardware as a positive influence to assist dealer capture business profitability
- Assist them in ordering United Hardware merchandise
- Assist in market ordering to drive member profitability and completeness
- Recommend, set, and maintain seasonal sets and transitions
- Provide consultation to dealers and their store employees in proper methods of merchandising, use of fixtures and equipment, checking in merchandise, etc.
- Straighten, review, and update United Hardware POGS for completeness in the store to increase sales
- Maintain appropriate United Hardware POG inventory in store based on retail sell through
- Build displays for sales when appropriate (United Hardware Endcap program, Core Solutions)
- Identify potential new products that United Hardware should consider and relate information to appropriate United Hardware individuals (suggest new items United Hardware should carry to grow and capture additional business)
- Identify additional Prospects to grow account list and grow business
- When a dealer is looking at expansion, ask for assistance and work through District Manager
- Identify high volume items and provide that information to appropriate individuals
- Achieve purchase growth as outlined in the current year s goal and expectations
- Work closely with other United Hardware Staff to meet the needs of the members
- Use of computer and technology to run reports, perform presentations and capture tracking
- Work collaboratively with District Managers and create a pro retailer growth plan
- Prepare stores for buying markets through collaboration with District Manager and United Hardware staff
- Provide feedback to category management around core store and POG s from a retailer perspective
- Attend and work annual buying markets; Assist in set up and take down
- Maintain a valid driver s license and drive an automobile to execute job responsibilities. Traveling outside of assigned area may be required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Company operations, programs, and policies
- Knowledge of retail hardware, Ag & Ranch, and general retail operations and procedures
- Basic hardware product knowledge
- Retail product merchandising methods
- Retail Display building best practices
- Retail management experience preferred
- Understanding of retail selling seasons and transition methods
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
- Strong human relation skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
- High School Diploma or GED
