Position Purpose
The Environmental Technician has the primary responsibility for Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program administration while providing support services to air quality staff. The Technician manages LDAR data collection and recordkeeping of refinery component emissions and assists in the development of reports for the Lead Environmental Technician (LDAR.)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for administering the Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program for regulated refinery components (>2,500)
- Coordinate with Maintenance for required repairs and follow-up monitoring within regulated timeframes
- Maintain up-to-date field and system records and ensure all components are properly tagged
- Track and obtain approval for all Delay-of-Repair components and perform follow-up monitoring upon replacement
- Assist with the generation of quarterly and/or semi-annual reports for all LDAR monitoring
- Provide assistance to air quality staff
- Serve as an active member of the refinery’s Spill Response and/or HAZMAT teams and participate in emergency response drills at the refinery
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities: Technical aptitude and problem-solving capability. Verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
Required Education and Experience College or technical degree in a scientific discipline is an asset but is not required. High school diploma required.
Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline, job or educational experience, in the technical areas of environmental testing, compliance, and related programs, is beneficial.
Work Environment: Office and Field Work
Physical Requirements: Ability to work outside in all types of weather, climbing ability to heights of greater than 150 ft., routinely lifting weight in excess of 50 lbs., maneuverability of tight spaces and uneven terrain, and carrying a 15 pound pack throughout the day.
Salary : $38,500 - $48,800
