PRIMARY PURPOSE
The General Manager is a dynamic leadership role responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and growing USS business in the assigned geography. This role will have full Profit and Loss (P&L) accountability and will spearhead both sales and operational requirements to achieve growth and profitability goals. This collaborative position works with Regional Vice Presidents, Operations Managers/Supervisors, and sales leaders to achieve overall growth targets, with full P & L accountability. The ideal candidate will be a forward thinker who can navigate various challenges and changes within the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead an exceptional team of high-performing operations and sales professionals, strategically guiding them to surpass targets and excel within the designated geography.
- Create a strategic plan focused on maximizing growth and productivity in line with the overall growth strategy of USS.
- Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships.
- Adhere to USS standards for excellence, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide leadership, training, and development to the team.
- Supervise daily activities, allocate performance objectives, and verify their achievement
- Manage and coordinate sales and operational activity for assigned locations.
- Recommend measures to improve operational practices and the quality of customer care.
- Work with various departments to resolve customer service issues.
- Analyze and report on sales and operational activities to meet objectives and profitability goals.
- Collaborate with the Regional Senior Vice President to develop and implement standard practices and efficiency recommendations.
- Ensure DOT compliance.
- Supervise the administration of the company's safety program.
- Spearhead employee development initiatives and conduct regular performance reviews, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and safety-centric work environment characterized by mutual respect, open communication, and collaboration.
- Undertake any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and versatility in addressing evolving organizational needs and priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of Ops and Sales experience with P&L skillsets leading both revenue and bottom line.
- Minimum 4 Year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong Operations background with experience in local market project management.
- Demonstrate ability to support Sales in building/delivering high level new-sales and existing sales presentations.
