ABOUT WEST VIRGINIA 211
West Virginia 211 is the statewide organization providing West Virginia’s official and most up to date information and referral resources. West Virginia 211 is a project of the West Virginia United Way Collaborative and covers all 55 counties across the state. Last year, specialists answered over 30,000 calls across the state.

The West Virginia United Way Collaborative is dedicated to support and enrich a strong statewide United Way network that maximizes the capacity of local United Ways to address human needs, improve lives and create lasting positive change across West Virginia.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

Project Management
- Manage database initiatives deliverables funded through a variety of government funded projects ensuring that all partners and team members are completing project deliverables.
- Orchestrate and supervise database improvement and expansion projects.
- Create monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports for internal and external audiences, including performance data and other key metrics.
- Participate in disaster response when West Virginia 211 is activated by state or local authorities.
Partner Engagement
- Represent West Virginia 211 on data-focused community task forces or planning groups, positioning 211 as an essential information resource.
- Coordinate regular collaboration meetings with call specialists, outside vendors, and partner agencies.
- Serves as main contact point person for First Choice Services, which is the 24 hour call center that is contracted for the program.
- Develop annual trainings for partners throughout the state on various topics.
Database Expansion and Improvement
- As an integral part of the 211 project team, work in collaboration with team members to strengthen and expand 211 database services and partnerships and maximize revenue and growth opportunities.
- Ensure the quality, comprehensiveness, and accuracy of the 211 resource database by coordinating data improvement efforts between partner United Ways and managing internal database improvement projects.
- Oversee data management staff training and partner with internal staff to continuously improve training programs that benefit the West Virginia network.
- Ensure compliance with national accreditation, taxonomy, and coding standards and develop recommendations to effectively partner with partner standards and alternative taxonomies.
Technology and Systems
- Manage technology vendor relationships and coordinate special development projects.
- Troubleshoot local United Way technical issues and escalate support tickets.
- Provide backup to technical systems staff to configure database and reporting systems.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years project management experience is preferred.
- 2 years data analysis or database management experience. Equivalent education/experience in library science, AIRS (Alliance of Information & Referral Systems) certification or related fields will be considered.
- Understanding of database systems and solid experience with maintaining standards and following style guides.
- Experience in gathering, categorizing, and analyzing data efficiently and accurately.
- Experience configuring CRM or telephony systems preferred.
- Prior experience with human services and/or information and referral preferred.
