Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant/Clerk is responsible for various general accounting and clerical functions in the Finance Department at United Weavers of America.

The Accounting Assistant/Clerk will handle general financial processes with a focus on daily bank reconciliation, prepare customer & supplier invoice processing and provide overall assistance to the Accounting Department. Ensure that United Weavers of America and all its employees’ information is held confidential.

Interaction will include vendor and customer contacts. Internally, they will work with other accounting personnel, department managers, salespeople, and all other United Weavers of America employees.

MAIN OBJECTIVES:

• Reconcile Daily Bank Transactions.
• Perform other general accounting functions as necessary.

Accounts Payable

• Process all supplier invoices for accounts payable.
• Prepare monthly commissions payable reports.
• Resolve problems with vendors’ accounting department.
• Maintain AS400 | Support Net (ERP System) A/P open & paid invoice files.

Accounts Receivable

• Review and Post Daily Accounts Receivable Batches.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experienced in Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable or in an Accounting Department in a similar role.
• Working knowledge of accounting basics such as bookkeeping skills and Data Entry.
• High skill set in Microsoft software such as Outlook and Excel.

Education:

• Some college or degree in Accounting (Preferred)
• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Accounts payable: 2 years (Required)
• Microsoft Excel: 3 years (Required)
• ERP systems: 1 year (Required); AS400 (Preferred)
• Accounts receivable: 1 year (Required)
• Month End Close Process: 1 year (Required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
