Primary Responsibilities:
- Understand and interpret key drivers of health care, dental and vision trends
- Assist in developing analytics that serve as the foundation for actuarial medical cost reporting
- Help drive ongoing efficiency gains on new and existing processes
- Perform specialized analyses in support of emerging strategic initiatives
- Design and run complex data programs to perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling
- Become a trusted resource to our business leaders and other non-actuarial partners
- Work to improve and develop advanced analytic techniques and predictive models
- Analyze and interpret quantitative data to create and review monthly / quarterly and ad hoc exhibits based on detailed data sets
- Perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling that provides management with statistical findings and conclusions
- Assist with development of materials, exhibits and visuals to communicate results
- Present findings directly to health plan leadership and functional partners

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related technical field from an accredited college/university
- Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or in the process of obtaining designation
- 3 years of actuarial experience
- Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced or higher proficiency in MS Excel (i.e.: formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, data manipulation, VBA)
- Basic proficiency (able to read and interpret code) with SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and SQL (Structured Query Language)
- Ability to quickly learn and use computer software tools effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Attainment of Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) credential
- Experience working in finance or the health care industry including collecting, analyzing, and summarizing qualitative/quantitative data
- Experience with R, Python and/or other predictive analytic platforms
- Experience with data visualization, i.e.: Power BI, Tableau
- Advanced capability of SAS and SQL
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including written and verbal forms of communication
- Experience and interest in developing original quantitative work
