Working to assist OMG providers in providing health care at OMG clinic locations. The MA EMR Support serves the patient and the provider by gathering and maintaining the necessary medical information in a cheerful, friendly, personable manner; providing quality patient care and helping to establish rapport between the provider and the patient.
If you live a geographically commutable distance to the Eugene location due to in person training, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responds to incoming phone calls and desktop items and refers if necessary. Calls patients as directed by the provider and/or as necessary to follow up and/or schedule appointments
- Completes 25% more daily phone calls (100 ) than standard Medical Assistant
- Proficiently schedules appointments, fills prescriptions, and places referrals & orders while on the phone with a patient rather than sending a note back to the provider
- Obtains patient histories, medications, immunizations and other data in the Electronic Medical Record
- Retrieves laboratory and radiology test results and instructs patients regarding medications and treatment per provider’s instructions
- Understands and follows the approved prescription refill workflow and documentation requirements. Communicates directly with provider for any refills that need provider input, or that do not meet the workflow requirements
- Orders supplies and puts away when received
- Understands and interprets current immunization schedule
- Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- MA Certification from the AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or RMA or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days of hire
- Healthcare provider level CPR/BLS certification
- 5 years of Medical Assistant experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology used to administer patient care
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic medical record systems
- Call center experience
