The Senior Patient Care Coordinator performs a wide variety of duties associated with patient services. This position is responsible for all components of the patient experience ranging from patient in-take, office visit, patient close-out, and appointment scheduling. The position also oversees the reporting function for the clinic including compliance specific reports as well as corporate statistics.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Occasional weekends and holidays required.
Location: This position is a remote opportunity for candidates located near 7 Technology Drive, Irvine, CA
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepares weekly reports including documentation for management regarding the status of appointments and general patient information
- Utilize resources such as DOFR/Contracts/Health Plan websites and matrixes to identify preferred providers and to resolve issues
- Reviews referral information for accuracy of content and available benefits
- Provide status of referral request to providers, patients, and health plans
- Approves authorizations based on directions from the Medical Director or UM Committee
- Communicates with members, physicians, specialists, community agencies, and vendors to ensure coordination of services
- Maintains confidentiality of all PHI in compliance with state and federal law and company policy
- Assists with coordination of resources, pharmacy calls, referrals, authorizations, health plan benefit coordination, and general clerical support for UM nurses and physicians
- Acts as a subject matter expert and assists other care coordinators with more difficult referrals and tasks as needed

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- 2 years of experience in a medical, managed care, or health care setting
- Intermediate level of knowledge with Microsoft Office programs, CPT and ICD-10 codes
- Ability to mentor and train others
- Possess a basic knowledge of medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in a lead position
California Residents Only: The hourly range for California residents is $19.47 to $38.08 per hour.
