- Demonstrates competence in the skills (critical thinking, interpersonal, and technical) necessary to carry out assigned duties.
- Recognizes and responds to patients' physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs that need to be evaluated in relation to the patient populations served appropriately.
- Assesses comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation, completes needed assessments and collaborates with physicians & providers
- Encourages feedback from the patient, families/significant others, peers, and other disciplines regarding perception of care provided to patients and utilizes feedback to improve patient care practices.
- Acts as resource person in the subspecialty of medical oncology.
Minimum Requirements
Preferred or Specialized
Education:
Graduate of accredited nursing program.
BSN degree.
Experience:
Oncology acute care experience preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
Must possess and maintain current CPR Certification as outlined per policy.
Oncology Certification preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Possesses appropriate knowledge of age specific criteria for dealing with adult and geriatric populations.
Knowledge of ionizing radiation effects for care of patients with cancer.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
