Vice President, Talent and Culture
What will you do?
As the Vice President of Talent & Culture, you will serve as a key member of the UnityPoint Health Human Resources executive leadership team. In this role, you will be leading the vision, development and execution of all talent management programs designed to attract, develop, motivate and retain productive, engaged leaders and team members. You will lead work that truly invests in our people including addressing talent acquisition needs, leader development, succession planning and building a systemwide learning function.
By leveraging your expertise, you will drive best-in-class thinking to counsel the organization on all issues related to UPH’s use of talent and culture in support of our mission of improving the health of the people and communities we serve.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will drive initiatives across multiple focus areas including organizational effectiveness and development, leadership and talent management, engagement and culture, and talent acquisition. Additionally, you will:
- Provide human capital management leadership to critical and organization-wide initiatives related to business process redesign and change management.
- Link organizational strategy to structure, building transformational change approaches and facilitating complex organizational issues.
- Provide thought leadership and counsel regarding UPH’s team member engagement and retention initiatives to increase organizational, programmatic, and individual performance.
- Design and implement integrated talent management solutions including, executive coaching, individual development planning, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Partner with the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer to build a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy and builds diversity and inclusion as a capability throughout leadership and in the organization.
- Design, develop, and execute leadership development programs that
- Develop leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Develop high-potential leaders across the organization
- Proactively and effectively addresses components of workplace culture that contribute to and potentially impede organizational and individual effectiveness in a manner consistent with the UPH’s values.
- Foster a culture of accountability, trust, recognition, and results among staff at all levels consistent with the short- and long-term objectives of the organization.
- Provide strategic guidance to the talent acquisition leadership team responsible for the recruiting to support shared services, inpatient and outpatient locations across three states and 33,000 team members.
- Oversee the development of talent acquisition and retention strategies and plans, including directing the design and implementation of the organization-wide employment programs for recruitment and retention strategies, candidate identification and selection methods, and diversity and inclusion strategies and measurements.
- Oversee the coordination of digital/marketing initiatives within strategic recruitment campaigns; ensure digital/marketing initiatives are launched in a cost effective and time efficient manner; ensure maximum ROI with respect to digital/marketing initiatives & placements; oversees the development of UPH recruitment social strategy.
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in I/O Psychology, Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 15 years of human capital management experience of which at least 10 years has been spent in a significant senior management role, preferably with a large health care organization.
- Expertise in organizational behavior, group dynamics, individual psychology, change management and communications strategy. Including experience standing up a Learning & Development (L&D) organization.
- Experience with major 360 and development-based assessments such as: CCL Benchmarks, Hay ECI, MBTI, FIRO-B, Hogan, PDI Profiler.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing succession planning strategies and tools to understand health of the organization.
- Experience developing coaching strategies and leading large scale change management initiatives.
- Ability and experience utilizing data to drive sustainable and innovative business solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in I/O Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field.
- Experience leading HR development and transformation.
