Overview
We're seeking a Workplace Safety and Security Program Director to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the development of the UnityPoint Health Workplace Violence Prevention Program. This will include the system wide coordination, implementation and maintenance of programs related to Workplace Violence Prevention. The development of the Workplace Violence Prevention program and associated standards and plans for System Services and Regions will ensure a safe and resilient environment for patients, team members, and visitors.
Location: Must reside within the UPH footprint of Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin.
Travel: Travel within regions required.

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Equivalent work experience will be accepted only if previous experience applies to specific work in Workplace Violence Prevention, Safety, Security of similar.
Preferred: Master’s degree from an accredited university.
Experience:
Required: 5 or more years of Supervisory/Management experience. 10 or more years of Public Service, Workplace Safety, Security, or Emergency Management experience.
Preferred: Experience in Workplace Violence Prevention, safety, security in a complex, integrated delivery healthcare system.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Required: Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Preferred: One of the following certifications or an equivalent: Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA), Certified Hospital Emergency Coordinator (CHEC), Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Required: Strong leadership skills, Excellent problem-solving aptitude, Ability to develop and implement successful safety programs, Effective interpersonal skills, Knowledge of Environment of Care accreditation programs, Knowledge of regulation and law pertaining to health & safety, emergency management, and security and the ability to manage complex financial budgets.
Preferred: Advanced training, research, or specialist knowledge in workplace health and safety, security, or emergency management and knowledge of successful parking systems.
