Our organization is looking for a Medical Scribe/Medical Assistant to join our team and help our providers in the field. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the long term care & primary care departments. The Medical Scribe will be responsible for accurately documenting patient encounters in the medical record and ensuring that all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner.
- Liaison between nursing facility, provider(s) and operations team.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Assist with patient flow and coordination of care.
- Assist with ordering tests and medications as needed.
- Provide support to physicians during patient visits.
- Perform data entry of patient information into the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Understand the principles of medical coding and billing.
- Understand the principles of primary care, urgent care, internal medicine, geriatrics, physical & rehabilitation medicine, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, hospice & palliative medicine.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
