ABOUT THE ROLE

UniversalMed Supply is looking for an enthusiastic Customer Service Specialist to join its Customer Service Department. This position will report directly to the Customer Service Manager. A Customer Service Specialist will need to be able to analyze patient accounts and resolve any issues/orders, troubleshoot equipment problems, prepare correspondences and fulfill customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as customer/patient advocate
  • Ability to analyze accounts and conduct in depth research into the issue and resolve the problem in a timely manner
  • Ability to effectively utilized multiple monitors to address account issues.
  • Receive 50 - 60 inbound calls from current patients, referral sources or prospective patients.
  • Assess equipment issues and troubleshoot problems
  • Provides courteous and accurate information to their callers
  • Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication with patients
  • Own, manage, escalate and resolve customer related issues and concerns
  • Open and maintain customer accounts by recording account information

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to communicate regarding Durable Medical Equipment
  • Ability to multi-task and resolve patient inquiries daily
  • Ability to communicate daily via inbound calls
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and high-growth environment, demonstrated willingness to jump in where needed and flexibility to shift priorities; quickly assimilate information and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
  • Superior time management, prioritization and organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects while paying strict attention to detail and meeting hard deadlines
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 year of Customer Service work experience
  • Strong analytic skills and demonstrated abilities in adapting and troubleshooting
  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred
