Pianist
Job Posting for Pianist at University Baptist Church
The church pianist:
- Will serve as an ex-officio member of the music committee.
- Will play for the morning worship services and all special services of the church asrequested.
- Will serve as the accompanist at rehearsals and services for the sanctuary choir,ensembles, instrumentalists, and soloists as needed and as approved by the musicdirector.
- Will maintain a regular schedule of piano practice and study for preparing service music(e.g., anthems, cantatas, oratorios, preludes, postludes, and accompaniments of solos,etc.).
- Will schedule service music for worship services with the music director for publication inall worship bulletins.
- Will collaborate with the music director and worship committee in selecting music forworship services, choir rehearsals, and special music events.
- Church members can request the pianist for weddings and funerals. Acceptance is dependent on the pianist’s availability. Compensation for such services would be inaddition to the salary paid by the church and would be paid by the individuals requesting such services. A set fee is stated in the wedding policies of the church for weddings. Funerals are on an honorarium basis.
- Will perform other related duties as assigned by the personnel committee in collaboration with the music director and music committee, as approved by the church.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $6,500.00 per year
