Job Summary
Manages and coordinates the alignment of Meaningful Use (MU) and other Regulatory Reporting requirements to organization’s mission and strategic plan. Ensures organization attests and receives full share of Meaningful Use funds and works towards the achievement of other Regulatory Program Incentives. Researches, plans, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates MU program requirements in order to meet objectives. Collects data from Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other clinical applications for: aggregation, analysis and reporting to relevant Associates, task force committees and management, as well as reporting to federal and state agencies to qualify for incentive programs. Works with team leaders and various levels of Management Associates in order to guide and implement Regulatory Metrics in order to comply with set requirements. Works in coordination with system leadership, other regulatory agencies, and contracted organizations in the development of clinical and comprehensive service delivery systems, organizational development, data analysis, and community development which impact Meaningful Use/ Regulatory reporting requirements.
Skills
1. Skilled in working with Electronic Medical Records and report writing.
2. Proficient in working with Excel Spreadsheets and tracking systems.
3. Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
4. Ability to evaluate and present data to other professionals/non-professionals, including Physicians, in a clear concise manner.
5. Knowledge of continuous quality improvement fundamentals.
6. Proficient in the principles of analytical assessment and creative problem solving.
7. Knowledge of hospital systems and organizational relationships.
8. Proven experience prioritizing organizational performance improvement efforts.
9. Works effectively in teams and/or alone.
10. Experienced in facilitation of group techniques.
11. Skilled in the use of computer systems and related software applications.
12. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
13. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Work Experience
Three years of experience required as a Registered Nurse or Information Systems supporting Clinical Documentation Systems, Electronic Medical/Health Records, Clinical Information Systems, NextGen, Cerner and/or CPOE. Knowledge and experience in user relations, project planning, and communication techniques. Experience implementing, coordinating and managing activities to achieve Meaningful Use Standards highly preferred. Programming experience preferred.
License/Registration/Certification
1. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas (when applicable).
2. Medicare Access & CHIP Reauthorization Act – Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MACRA-MIPS) Quality Professional (CMQP) or Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification required within six months of being in the position.
Education and Training
Bachelor degree in Nursing, Information Systems or related field required.
