Department: Enterprise Apps Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Computer Support Technician is a position within Information Technology Services that is responsible for a wide range of technical activities to support UA Little Rock’s Department of Public Safety. Activities consist of activities related to computer support such as maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software systems. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Qualifications: Required Education and/or Experience The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field OR Completion of technical training in computer science, information technology, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting plus two years of experience in computer support. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain the computers/servers/software programs, Copy/Print Services machines, and peripheral devices for the Department of Public Safety. Also creates backups for different computers/users; Design and maintain the Department of Public Safety web page. This includes maintaining crime statistics for the posting of the crime log daily for the Department of Public Safety’s website; Assist with the support of the security camera systems and data withdrawal from the Milestone Software Servers and various DVR Storage Media; Assist in the installation of cameras and settings; Install and maintain the Perceptive Client Software for use by the Department of Public Safety. Conducts all imaging of numerous documents for archiving; Maintain the Department of Public Safety’s Record Management System, Relativity Public Safety Solutions Program (RPS), and train personnel in using this software for writing their police reports; Compile crime statistics in the establishment of the CLEARY Act Annual Security Report and conduct training for Campus Security Authorities who report on crimes in accordance with the CLEARY Handbook; Maintain and enter data for the Racial Profiling database for the Department of Public Safety; Maintain the user listing for the RAVE Alert System to include training appropriate personnel for the Department of Public Safety Creates/Issues RAVE Alerts as instructed or requested; Create new police identification cards for the UA Police Department individual Officers, maintain listserve for the Department of Public Safety use, and perform all other duties as assigned.
