Department: COM | Pharmacology Cognitive Function Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: **This position is exposed to laboratory animals** A Research Associate position is available in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The laboratory focuses on understanding the molecular pathways of kidney injury resulting from transplantation and applying therapeutics to improve renal outcome after transplantation. The Research Associate will contribute to NIH-funded research by using cell/molecular biology, immunohistochemical, cell signaling, and rat models of transplantation to understand how cold-ischemia during preservation impacts long-term outcome of kidney transplants. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a bioscience or related field plus five (5) years of research experience required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:. Must be able to work closely with various laboratory animal specimens. Ability to perform animal surgery with microsurgery skills.
