Summary of Job Duties:
The Building Services Supervisor oversees the cleaning tasks in a specified zone area. The individual serves in a lead position organizing and coordinating cleaning activities during special events or time-sensitive projects. The position is heavily involved in Conference programs. This position is responsible for escorting vendors when requested; keeping staff informed of current cleaning techniques and processes such as stripping and waxing of floors; assigning daily tasks; ensuring all areas are sanitized daily; ensuring all staff are using the correct cleaning product and follows safety guidelines; ensuring housekeeping closets meet expectations and all product bottles labeled.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
  • One year of vocational training and/or experience in housekeeping.
Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years custodial experience
  • Two years supervisory experience in the custodial field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds waist-high, climb stairs daily, and operate basic cleaning equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in the workplace
