The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff. Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education and community service goals of the University. The Classroom Technologies group within OIT is responsible for instructional technology in roughly 150 classrooms, computer labs, and conference rooms, and instructional tools used campus-wide such as Zoom, YuJa, and Poll Everywhere.
Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced professional to coordinate audio/visual and other classroom support with a focus on instructional technology and tools. Acts as a morning shift leader, coordinating communications and managing incidents both individually and on behalf of the team. Provides primary support and management of classroom computers, coordination of equipment installations and renovations, Extron systems programming and support of scheduling panels, device security management, and acts as lead for specific technologies such as camera systems, Mersive Solstice, or Zoom integrations.

Required:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Thorough customer service and consultative skills to identify and implement required technology solutions. Skills to determine priorities based on knowledge of work area. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem solving skills. Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Knowledge of computer, media, and networking technology. Extron control & switching programming experience. Excellent project leadership and management skills. Thorough understanding of audio/visual equipment and ability to use this information to troubleshoot the most complex systems. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
Ability to assess campus or institutional needs for AV IT technology products and design services to meet those needs. Previous experience supporting classroom technology in a university environment.
Special Conditions Required:
Must pass a background check. Must have valid driver’s license or State ID. Flexibility in work schedule – with times of either 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm. May be required to work overtime or on-call, as needed. Work is primarily on-site, but may qualify for part time hybrid work.
