Job Summary
The University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Production Coordinator! As a member of Theatre BFA Design/Tech/Management Faculty, this position will serve as a mentor of a student stage management cohort.

Who We Are
The University of Colorado Boulder offers the following degree programs: BA in Dance; BA in Theatre; BFA in Dance; BFA in performance/Musical Theatre/ Design/Tech/Management; MFA in Dance’; and MFA and Ph.D. in Theatre & Performance Studies. The department boasts 22 full time faculty and a staff of 8. There are approximately 250 undergraduate theatre and dance students and 35 graduate students. The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is in residence at CU-Boulder and produces 5 productions annually.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
As part of the teaching load (1-1), teach all stage-management courses (Stage management 1 and possibly 2), manage and mentor all stage-crew practicums for Theatre and when appropriate in collaboration with the Director of Dance Production, coordinate stage-management assignments and run crew practicum. Other teaching opportunities are possible in areas of interest and need input for curricular and production management.
Responsible for calendar and space scheduling for all Dance and Theatre productions in a 9 month season utilizing THDN performance venues as well as instituting all safety procedures and protocols. Serve as assistant building proctor.
Coordination duties include:
- All aspects of auditions for Theatre production season
- All outside prop rentals
- Off-campus storage operations
- All shared facilities and production resources with Colorado Shakespeare Festival per MOU and Theatre & Dance
- House management for productions
- CU Presents (Resident marking and box office services) coordination (program)
- Rights and Royalties: Applying for, obtaining, and coordinating Rights and Royalties as well as scripts
- Managing/supervising student workers

What We Can Offer
The salary range for this 100% 9-month appointment is $54,000-$55,000.

What We Require
- MFA in Theatre and/or Dance Production or related field or equivalent experience.
- Prior teaching experience at the University level.
- Professional Productions and Stage Management experience.
What We Would Like You To Have
- Production experience in dance and theatre.
- Understanding of AEA and other union practices.
- Demonstrated organizational, scheduling, and budgeting experience.
- A commitment to the collaborative work environment and the development of students.
- Expertise in any area of Theatre and/or Dance Design and/or production.
