Description:
The Director of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) Office of Inclusive Excellence in STEM will oversee and administer select and strategic research, educational, and administrative programs related to equity and student success. This includes building and supporting an externally funded research and program-support portfolio, developing STEM curriculum reform efforts, guiding faculty- and department-level development activities, and establishing novel student support efforts.
Specific duties include:
- Provide leadership for the CLAS role in the CU Denver Learning Assistants (LA) program
- Implement and build upon recent grant-funded inclusive excellence reforms
- Connect faculty with grant-generated and institutionally supported professional development opportunities and resources
- Guide and evaluate STEM department curriculum and student success reform efforts using evidence-based change management techniques
- Secure internal and external funding to sustain and develop student success activities
- Participate in and/or provide leadership for the efforts of the CLAS Inclusive Excellence in Science Alliance
- Supervise staff members supporting the Office of Inclusive Excellence in STEM
- Further develop the vision and purview of the Office of Inclusive Excellence in STEM in line with professional, CLAS, and campus strategic goals
Salary and Benefits:
The Director of OIES is a secondary faculty appointment and is paid one month’s summer effort and a 10% academic year stipend based on a faculty member’s academic year salary. The academic year stipend will typically be equivalent to a salary range of $8,000 - $13,000 per academic year.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
