Responsibilities:
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette invites nominations and applications for the position of Registrar. The Office of the Registrar serves the University through its primary missions of securely maintaining the academic records of current and former students and upholding the University's academic policies. Additionally, the Registrar evaluates and implements technology to enhance services to students, faculty, and staff. The University Registrar reports to the division of Academic Affairs.
Responsibilities:
The Registrar collaborates with academic units and administrative offices in the strategic planning and implementation of initiatives and systems to achieve greater efficiency and alignment with the University's mission and institutional priorities. The Registrar is a transformative leader of office services and processes relating to academic records. Responsibilities include:
- transcripts, transfer credit evaluations, residency, NCAA certification, registration, degree audit, and records management
- term setup and maintenance, course scheduling, enrollment reporting, end-of-term processing, records requests, development of reports, and commencement
- guidance in the management of student data in the SIS (Banner)
The Registrar certifies that the University follows all federal and state laws for records and reporting and all requirements related to SACSCOC accreditation and compliance with FERPA and NCAA requirements. As a steward of student academic records, the Registrar ensures the integrity, security, and maintenance of student data aligned with university policies, including audits of student records. The Registrar will work with other offices relating to admissions and retention, advancing the catalog, managing institutional data, graduation clearance and degree audits, and working with key stakeholders including the academic colleges and Graduate School to implement business methods of value to their mission and needs.

Qualifications:
Required qualifications include a Master's degree in data management, student services, academic administration, or related field; plus, seven years relevant and progressively advanced supervisory experience in a comprehensive Registrar's Office. Demonstrable capability to enable communication, lead teams, analyze challenges, and design solutions. Experience as a change agent able to develop strategic visions, to align budget, and to adapt evolving processes, policies, and institutional priorities. The ability to serve as a member of the Academic Affairs team.
